West Cumbria Mining has recently received formal notification from the High Court of Justice in London advising that the rolled-up hearing relating to the challenges against the Government’s decision to approve WCM’s planning permission, set for 24th-26th October 2023, has been postponed.
The hearing will now be re-scheduled to be heard after judgement has been handed down by the Supreme Court on another case (Finch).
At this stage it is unclear how long it will take for the Supreme Court to issue their judgement; however we do not expect the delay to be very significant. WCM will provide further updates as we receive them from the High Court.
In the meantime, WCM continues to progress the pre-start work required, including design, planning, equipment procurement and associated desk-based work.
